Adjectively Yours

Meredith and I went to the library today during our 40 minutes of pre-Madeline time. We did the same stairs/escalator/elevator routine that brings joy to so many little Memphians. We picked out a book about emergency vehicles, cause we're toeing that line twixt fascination and OCD. And we practiced our spelling words. It went something like this.

Me: Meredith, spell frog, as in "The frog jumped."
Her: That's fine, mom, but if you want to be more adjectively, you should say "The green frog jumped onto the pretty lily pad in the pond."

Well. She's right.

My precious child, you have no idea what that means to an old second grade teacher.!!Give that child's teacher a raise!

Walt's sentence for his "extra" homework yesterday was "The little, pink hog went for a jog." And also he brought home a letter that he edited in the writing workstation with honest-to-goodness editor's mark-ups used correctly throughout. I almost fell out. Ms. Malland is a TOTAL rockstar.
